A Time for Connections
While recently listening to Terry Gross on Fresh Air, she interviewed Fred Kaplan about his book “Daydream Believers: How a Few Grand Ideas Wrecked Americas Power.” The following is a link to an excerpt and a recording of the interview.

I believe that Kaplan has some very good points, especially his points about how the attacks of September 11th have been painted. Weather or not the attacks were committed by Islamofascist’s the Administration used the event to bolster public support for an attack on
Kaplan’s main point seems to advocate a shift away from massive military spending. Smart investment in troop’s rather then high price tagged weapons. I would agree that we definitely make a huge change in the way we spend or defense budget. Kaplan even mentions Bush’s $12.5 Billion budget (bigger then that of WWII?!) Eisenhower, a proud warrior saw what was coming. The Power of the Military Industrial Complex controls the State.
Anyway check out this article and interview and tell me what you think.

Scott,
This is a new spin on an often talked about issue. I liked it. Thanks! I have not heard many people writing about how America is actually worse off after the cold war in certain regards. That was a new P.O.V.
hey,
Not to sound like a broken record, but have you seen the internet film "Loose Change" ?? I'm sure it's available on google. Mentions some aspects of 911 that I've never heard from the mainstream media. Even the discussion of how hot jet fuel burns at, and the melting point of structural steel. The facts just kinda speak for themselves.
or even the website www.911truth.org
a lot of professionals post there. but you have to sift through the info, due to the sheer amount of it.
